The principles behind our work
Behind every health record is a person placing their trust in others. Patient sovereignty, security, privacy and trust have guided how we have architected and built Vitaspan from the outset.
The patient remains at the centre.
Health information should serve the person it concerns. We believe patients should have meaningful control over how their information is used and shared, with appropriate permission.
We are stewards, not owners.
We act as custodians of patient information. We do not sell or monetise patient data. Our responsibility is to safeguard it and support its use in care.
A network built on shared trust.
Vitaspan brings together trusted participants, each with a responsibility to respect patient sovereignty, protect confidentiality and handle information with care. Membership of the network supports collaboration; access to a patient’s information remains governed by appropriate permissions.
Privacy and security are built in.
These principles shape how information is collected, accessed, processed and shared. They are foundational to the platform’s architecture and guide its continuing development.
Each interaction should build on the last.
A person’s health story should remain connected across appointments, providers and countries, helping each care team understand what came before.
Clinical expertise remains with clinicians.
Clinicians retain their judgement and oversight. Their clinical methodologies and intellectual property are respected and protected.
Technology should create more time for care.
We build tools to reduce the work of gathering, organising and preparing information, giving teams more time to focus on the person.
